Comprehensive implementation of the transport of spent nuclear fuel from the country of use to the country of origin of the fuel (Russia, China)

The Czech Republic was one of the first countries to accede to the global threat reduction programme, aimed among other things at the removal of highly enriched fuel from research reactors to the countries of origin. Based on the successful removal from the Czech Republic in 2007, ÚJV Řež, a. s. won a long-term contract for technical support of removals from countries using Russian and Chinese fuels. Until 2020 we participated in the loading and removal of fuels in 17 separate transport projects on roads, railways, by sea and by air, from a total of 12 countries.
