The museum was formed through the integration of the original historical display curated by our Division of Integrity and Engineering, and an extensive, long-developed collection of instruments for measuring ionizing radiation — provided courtesy of our esteemed colleague Martin Jor.

The exhibition is structured into three thematic sections, offering visitors an unconventional insight into the development of science, technology, and safety in the field of nuclear research:

  1. Materials Research and Radiopharmaceutical Production – Gain insight into the development and application of radioactive substances in medicine, science, and industry.

  2. Radioactive Waste Management – Learn how hazardous materials are safely handled and explore the technologies used in their processing.

  3. Instruments for Measuring Ionizing Radiation – Discover a broad array of detection instruments that have protected human health over the decades—from devices used in research institutions and industry to equipment designed for the military and civil defense.

Our museum is not merely a collection of technical artifacts—it tells a living story of how humanity has responded to invisible threats, safeguarded health, and how advances in science have transformed the world’s approach to working with radioactivity.
