Expert cooperation between ÚJV Řež and the Japan Nuclear Safety Institute (JANSI) dates back to 2013. The most recent achievement of the joint efforts to develop global nuclear safety is the update of the methodology for in-depth protection assessment, which has been adopted by the IAEA as an international methodological material. The official publication of the methodology, in which CEZ experts also participated on behalf of the Czech side, is expected in the near future.
The all-round interest in the continuation of joint activities was also confirmed by the recent Japanese partners' meeting attended by our CEO Daniel Jiřička. He was accompanied by Vice President Jozef Mišák, who has been involved in the cooperation with JANSI in the area of evaluation of the implementation of defence-in-depth at nuclear units since the very beginning.
