ÚJV Řež, in cooperation with the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Czech Academy of Sciences and NETWORK GROUP, has successfully completed a project that strengthens security monitoring of the reactor containment structures at the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant. ČEZ invested tens of millions of Czech crowns in this modernisation.
A total of 168 special sensors were installed by our technicians on the containments (protective buildings surrounding the reactors) at the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant. This enables power plant operators to monitor online the condition of buildings that form a key protective barrier between the reactors and the environment. The upgrade is part of an equipment renewal programme and the preparation of the Temelín plant for more than sixty years of operation. The modernisation cost ČEZ tens of millions of Czech crowns.
The project for the development and installation of the sensors was carried out in close cooperation with two partners – the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Czech Academy of Sciences and NETWORK GROUP. The initial development project was supported by the Ministry of the Interior in 2013–2015 (VG20132015/124).
