Patrik Špátzal Appointed Chief Executive of ÚJV Řež
On 1 October 2026, Patrik Špátzal was appointed Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of ÚJV Řež.
Patrik Špátzal has worked at the company for more than 22 years and has served on its Board of Directors since 2018. He will build on the successful transformation carried out over the past two years.
ÚJV Řež, a member of the ČEZ Group, is entering the next stage of its development. In recent years, the company has significantly strengthened its position as a respected partner in the nuclear energy and radiopharmaceutical sectors in the Czech Republic and across Europe. The new Chief Executive intends to build on this progress and take the company forward. “My priority is to continue along the course we have set and further develop ÚJV Řež’s strengths. The company has undergone a period of significant change and now stands on solid foundations. We are not planning any sweeping changes. I want to build on what works and, together with my colleagues, move the company forward through carefully considered, gradual steps. Our approach can be summed up by the motto: a new mission, the same team,” says Patrik Špátzal, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of ÚJV Řež.
Patrik Špátzal has worked at ÚJV Řež since 2004 and has served on the company’s Board of Directors since 2018. For more than ten years, he led the growing Radiopharmaceuticals Division, a major supplier to the Czech healthcare sector and one of the Group’s most successful business areas.
“ÚJV Řež has unique know-how, experienced experts and a key role to play in forthcoming nuclear energy projects, including the construction of new nuclear facilities and the development of small modular reactors. Our ambition is to remain a reliable partner for our customers and make a significant contribution to projects that are important to the Czech Republic’s energy future and to the development of the ČEZ Group as a whole. Our employees, their expertise and their ability to find new solutions are key to achieving this,” adds Patrik Špátzal.
The leadership transition was smooth and formed part of a carefully planned process. Martin Ruščák, who had led the company since October 2024, stepped down after overseeing a key stage in its transformation.
