1. April 2026

As of 1 February 2026, part of VZÚ Plzeň’s commercial activities (particularly in surface treatments, thermal spraying and heat treatment) was transferred to the subsidiary iCVŘ, a CVŘ spin-off focused on transferring research results into industrial practice. This step marked the first stage of a broader transformation, though it did not constitute the actual merger of VZÚ Plzeň and CVŘ.

The key date for the merger is 1 April 2026, when VZÚ Plzeň will be fully integrated into the structure of the Research Centre Řež. This integration is being carried out in line with current legislation and with a strong emphasis on maintaining the continuity of all professional activities, certifications and teams. The purpose of the merger is to effectively combine capabilities and the further develop all activities under one roof.

In the coming weeks, integration steps will be completed, including defining the organisational structure, unifying selected processes, and aligning support systems across human resources, finance and IT. From 1 June 2026, the Research Centre Řež will operate under this newly strengthened organisational structure.

The shared goal remains the advancement of research, development and innovation in modern energy, alongside collaboration on research projects not only within the Czech Republic, but also across Europe and the member countries of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

We would like to thank all employees of both organisations for their understanding and support throughout this process, as well as partners and customers for their continued trust and support during this important stage in the development of the ÚJV Group.
