In late 2025, we opened our new Museum of Instruments and Equipment, located in our former archive building. The exhibition explores the fascinating world of radioactivity, nuclear energy and radiation protection. We warmly invite enthusiasts and all members of the public interested in nuclear energy to join us for guided tours starting in March.
The exhibition combines the original collection of historical instruments from our Integrity and Technical Engineering Division with the extensive private collection built over many years by our colleague, Martin Jor. Thanks to his enthusiasm, patience and expertise, we are able to present an exceptional collection of instruments, devices and artefacts that tell the story of the development of work with ionising radiation – from the earliest experiments to modern technologies.
The exhibition is divided into three thematic sections, guiding visitors through the worlds of science, technology and radiation safety:
Discover how hazardous materials are handled safely and what technologies ensure the protection of people and the environment.
Explore a wide range of measuring devices – from laboratory instruments and industrial equipment to military and civil defence technology – which have protected human health for decades.
Learn about fields that help maintain the safety of nuclear facilities and save lives.
And that is not all. The exhibition also features remarkable historical curiosities – from radioactive dinnerware and psychotronic talismans to domestic “radon baths”. These objects paint a vivid picture of an era in which humanity discovered invisible forces and learned to harness them.
Our museum is not merely a collection of technical exhibits; it is a living story of how scientific progress has transformed the way we work with radioactivity today.
Starting in March 2026, we will be launching regular guided tours for the general public. Please book your visit in advance.
