Title: Computational model of steam bottoming cycle behind gas turbine burning gas fuel based on hydrogen – nitrogen mixture.

Annotation

Computational model of bottoming steam cycle were established within the specialized program GT-PRO (by Thermoflow, Inc.). Main benefit of GT-PRO software is possibility to use built-in gas turbine model library (annually updated) based on input data from gas turbine suppliers. Due to above mentioned fact, it is possible to specify flue gas parameters behind gas turbine burning uncommon fuel like hydrogen – nitrogen mixture syngas. It is necessary to know flue gas parameters behind gas turbine for correct design and optimization of subsequent steam cycle.

Steam cycle computational model is based on Alstom GT13E2 gas turbine use, all defined energy links to Pre-combustion technology has been taken into consideration. Model enables modifications and optimization of: main flows parameters, overall cycle configuration and main cycle components depending on specific conditions given by power plant purpose and location.

Computational model main outputs are power plant performance (electricity production, syngas consumption, thermal efficiency) and heat balance diagram (describes flow parameters at all important nodes. GT-PRO software further enables preliminary evaluation of investment cost and plant site plan (built-up area).
