In 2009, the Science & Technology Park and the Entrepreneurial Incubator (hereinafter referred to as "VTP and PI") were established in the Nuclear Research Institute Rez plc, which extended the Technology Park established in 2001. Extension of the Technology Park involved construction of an experimental hall, annex building to LVR-15 reactor and modernization of laboratories and offices for the needs of VTP and PI. These plants include special equipment, new technologies, etc., which enable engagement in industrial development and transfer of technologies related to the development of generation III and IV reactors.
This extension was implemented within the framework of the operational programme Industry and Enterprise. This involved the programme Prosperity I. The subject matter of the support provided by the programme was to establish science and technology parks, entrepreneurial incubators and centres for technology transfer. The programme was launched due to insufficient communication and co-operation between the research and development spheres. This project was co-financed by EU structural funds and state budget.
All these installed technologies and built-up premises within VTP and PI are available to all innovation companies with preferential rents and provision of necessary services.
